DELAY not expected, day drags on.

First in Miami, then New York.

Everybody just wanted, to get home.

Especially get there, before the storm.

Hours went by, getting very tired.

Delay upon delay, please don’t cancel.

Finally came together, heard the sigh.

Bus to plane, in air again.

Upon landing follow, detour to baggage.

Nobody is smiling, how could they.

Barely able to, keep eyes open.

Then to car, in parking lot.

So thankful that, through all this...

My sweetheart there, by my side.

Got us home, safe and sound.

Into bed plopped, clothes still on.

Soon beside me, we fell asleep.

Woke up together, things to do.

Tomorrow will come, happiness and laughter.

Today curling up, and just relaxing.
