NIGHTTIME brings on,
desire to relax.
Alas can't do,
that's a fact.

Mind won't cooperate,
regardless of pace.
I just don't,
have enough space.

The world again,
out of sync.
Is another war,
on the brink?

Why is it,
mankind always bickering?
And in background,
others are snickering?

And if ask,
say desire peace.
Yet weapons supply,
they do increase.

Bullies with power,
today do rule.
As in past,
are so cruel.

What's wrong with,
helping the weak.
Feeding the poor,
so hunger defeat.

"Us" against "them",
as conveniently defined.
No thought of,
simply being kind.

The  "selfie"  is,
used by plenty.
About the "I",
not the "many".

Could keep going,
better I don't.
Or won't be,
sleeping any tonight.

HOSPITAL can be far or near,
there for healing.

Going about our busy daily lives,
until pandemic hits.

Shell of callousness and closed mind,
is reactive response.

Creates a virus of intense hatred,
and self interest.

Bringing down those trying to help,
can't keep happening.

What will it take turn around,
bring sanity back?

Time to love one another again,
work as team.

As saying goes... "United we stand,
divided we fall."

Let us focus on the healing,
gaining back strength.

Stop throwing stones at one another,
before democracy dies.

Which leaves room for a replacement,
eager to fill.

We do not want civil war,
just like before.

Let's work together for peaceful solution,
before too late!

PANDEMIC mindset has definitely settled in.
Representing the current state of nation.

No longer applies united we stand.
Contention is the continued game plan.

About the few not the many.
Breaking off into viral factions plenty.

Do no harm just doesn't apply.
Democracy finding it hard to breathe.

In these times of great stress...
For the nation do what's best.

For our democracy we must fight.
The enemy within is not right.

Must understand what's at our door.
Or will be a civil war.

Like a virus sets off alarm.
And left unattended does much harm.

In numbers grows easy to catch.
Will lead to many many deaths.

Can cause our nation to fall.
As if hadn't existed at all.

Can not force others to care.
To speak up those who dare.

Let us reunite this very day.
A democracy again we all pray.

Red brown black all the same.
To them don't cast the blame.

Stop setting terms tilting the vote.
Those who differ have no hope.

That's what virus does to host,
As takes over it does boast.
